XYZ (eXtra Years of Zest)
We are the XYZ (eXtra Years of Zest) group. Originally, when everyone was "younger," they did crafts, jigsaw puzzles, other games, were divided into teams that took turns cooking, and took occasional trips.....sometimes even overnight.
The XYZ men do odd jobs around the church and provide a great service that saves the church a LOT of money. They meet every Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m., year round.
The women come the first and third Tuesdays and just enjoy visiting and eating lunch together. On the first Tuesday I cook for everyone, including the "Mission Sewers," who work from about 10 a.m. until about 3 p.m. The third Tuesday is "covered dish." I provide the meat, and everyone else brings the sides.
When I cook everything, the charge is $3; for covered dish, depending on the cost of the meat, I charge $.50 or $1 if a person brought a covered dish, or $3 if they didn't.
