Life Groups
Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
At the inception of the early church, the church regularly met in one another's homes, breaking bread together. Life groups are just an extension of what started over 2000 years ago.
Life groups will have semi-annual kickoffs. There are only two of these events a year allowing for two "on ramps" to get plugged into life groups. At a kick-off you will hear more information about life groups as well as how to get plugged into one.
Life groups are a process of growth by multiplication instead of addition. The groups split after one year of meeting together. Two and half years ago we started with one group at my home, last year three, and this year we have six groups currently going. We are excited at how God has been growing us as a Church.
Life groups are an attempt to focus on people rather than programming. These groups are structured by growing a group of no more than 12 people at the time. We allow a maximum of twelve into each group to allow the group to get more personal with each other and to achieve deeper levels of growth. We have found this establishes a deeper level of trust over time.
Finally, life groups are making the point that ministry is everyone's responsibility instead of a one-man show on Sunday morning. Simply put, leaders and facilitators of life groups are led by those who have gone through life groups before.
At our kick-off events we will begin the process of matching people up with facilitators and life group leaders.
Look forward to seeing you there,
